So here is a just-for-fun, learn about me blog that was actually an assignment for one of my courses. Hope you enjoy 🙂
40 things that I delight in (besides the LORD)
1. Floral Prints. Because they are feminine, pretty, and usually bright with lots of colors. I especially enjoy dresses, but also shoes, bags, shorts, hairbrushes, ya know just your basics. Bonus points to this one because it also has birds.
2. ALL POTATO CHIPS but especially salt and vinegar, and specially kettle cooked.
3. Flannel shirts. The hipster in me (who is small but persistent at times) would like to make known that I really them before they were trendy.
4. Harry Potter. The books. The movies. The characters. The setting. All of it. #GoGoGryffindor
5. Defying fashion rules. Whether its wearing plaid, tie-dye, and floral all at once, letting my hair go wild and crazy, or painting the toenails on my left foot green and the ones on my right foot pink, I get much enjoyment from dressing in unexpected ways (probably the enneagram type 4 in me).
This photo brings me to…
6. Being dirty! After hard work or play. This is something I miss so much about the race.
7. Personality tests. I’m an ENFP, enneagram type 4. If I lived in Middle Earth I’d be a hobbit and if I were a Disney princess I would be Pocahontas. While I don’t believe anyone can be completely defined by a personality type because we are all so uniquely handcrafted by God, I love taking the assessments and studying different types. It helps me understand myself and the way I relate to other people. Plus its just fun!
8. Music. Listening to it but especially making it. With piano, guitar, a little ukulele and a little mandolin. But with my voice most of all.
9. Tie-dye. Forever and always. I love it most when I’ve made it myself but I am not above wearing store-bought tie-dye threads.
10. Chick-fil-a. Waffle fries, chicken sandwiches, chick-fil-a sauce, cookies and cream shakes. Mmmmm good for the soul. Oh and cows who can’t spell, what’s not to love?
11. Hot glue guns. Attach almost anything to almost anything else. Its like a weapon for arts and crafts and makes me feel like I can conquer the world.
12. Porch Swings. A staple in my childhood memories at Granny’s house.
13. Coffee. Especially in mugs that are quirky and fit my hand well. And especially coffee from Guatemala.
14. Painting. I have no idea what I’m doing when I paint but I love it. Lemme at those watercolors and acrylics.
15. Chocolate. One of my favorite books as a child:
16. Journals. For prayers, doodles, quotes, song lyrics, paint, etc.
17. Piercings. I have 3 in each ear and one in my nose. I’d like to add more to my ears but I have small ears so I don’t know if that will work. Stay tuned.
18. Tattoos. I have one and hopes for more. This is not mine but I like it:
19. Birds. Ask me about my tattoo.
20. ALL THINGS DISNEY. Especially Tangled, The Little Mermaid, Mulan, Pocahontas, The Lion King, I could go on and on actually.
21. Kentucky. I got that home state pride. I’m only a slight Wildcat fan and I do not love KFC. but my love for the Bluegrass state runs deep.
22. Campfires, especially with friends, and especially with s’mores.
23. Going to the movies. Especially when I can also afford popcorn.
24. Vance Joy. Voice, talent, and he’s pretty cute. Not to mention his great…
25. Lyrics! Its amazing how a song lyric can explain my state of being or feelings so accurately sometimes. Especially those from the mind/heart of Vance.
26. This Shampoo. I don’t often buy it because its not the cheapest option so if you’re looking to bless me… 😉
27. Raccoons. If I could have any pet in the whole world and it be safe and okay for me and the pet, I would 140% have a raccoon. He would cuddle with me and I would train him to help me with household chores and potentially play a miniature guitar. If you also love raccoons, please follow @pumpkintheraccoon on instagram. Quality.
27. Mason Jars. Simple, classic, and so many options!
28. Crunchy Fall Leaves. Mmmmm yes I will go out of my way for these. Also pugs.
29. Walking Barefoot. I love the feel of grass under my feet. Disclaimer: These are not my feet.
30. A healthy dose of HUMIDITY. People at camp in Minnesota thought I was crazy for this (its okay I thought they were too). I love it when the air feels hot on my skin, and I can feel the heat in my bones. Plus it gives my hair that extra oomph aka volume.
31. While we’re basically on the topic, SUMMER. I would be absolutely fine living in it all year round.
32. Pizza, especially pepperoni.
33. Travel. I have learned so much about myself, life, and God from other cultures. Can I go everywhere?
34. Lipton Green Tea. Cold not hot and absolutely not the diet kind.
35. Ale81. Its only in Kentucky and I miss it when I’m away.
36. Animals. All of them but especially dogs, cats, rabbits, anything I can hold and pet and cuddle. Also donkeys. I think they are so cute and under-appreciated. I mean look…
37. Old farmhouses in the middle of nowhere. But with easy access to a good size town and wifi connection. Haha.
38. Calf-raises. This is my absolute favorite exercise because I love my legs and it reminds me how strong they are.
39. Trying to speak Spanish. Try me sometime. Me gusta practicar.
40. Sleeping under the stars.
10 things that I cannot even:
- Raw onions
- Gender Sterotypes
- Cold weather
- Rigid structure
- Straight hair. On me, if you got it flaunt it but that is just not who I am.
- When my earrings get caught in my hair.
- Spaghetti. I don’t hate it, I just think its way overrated.
- Legalism.
- When emotions are not valued.
- Electronic noise that masquerades as music aka dubstep.
BLESS YOUR HEART.
