Do you let yourself feel them, interact with them?
Do you like them?
A lot of us seem to hate the fact that we are emotional beings.
I don't. I enjoy it. Most of the time.
Your emotions have value.
Last weekend I decided to paint my feelings.
As the colors left the brush and landed on the page I grew in awareness of my heart.
Oh, this blue, it feels like excitement. The pink though, its nervousness. Purple feels smooth, thick, and heavy...what is it? Oh its peace. And the green. That feels kinda uncomfortable but good. Patience.
If you don't know what's in your heart, I encourage you to look inside. Find a way to see and know what's there. Then ask God what he's got to say about it.
What is the word for all this I feel? I asked him.
And he spoke in me: ANTICIPATION.
What is it that I should anticipate?
GREATNESS.
So there it is. I anticipate greatness. If I had never tapped into what was going on in my heart, if I had ignored my emotions, I would have never known.
Your emotions have value. Get in there and feel them.
